For best results, we recommend you to heat the pan on a low flame before starting to cook, and add some extra oil for the initial few uses. After using, clean the pan, dry it and apply a thin layer of oil all over it before storing, so that rust stays away from your cookware.
How do I cook in a cast iron cooking pot?
Since the pot has already been seasoned, all you need to do to use it is wash it with soap and dry it off. Before beginning to cook, preheat the pot over a low flame and add a bit of more oil for the first few uses. To prevent rust from forming on your cookware, clean the pan after each use, wipe it dry and then coat it with a thin layer of oil before storing it in a dry place.
Points to note The pot is hand seasoned. So in some cases there can be some variations on the surface. As this is made up of cast iron, this tends to be heavier than steel or non stick pot.. After receiving the parcel, if you find any black residue on the pan, don’t worry. The black residue is only from the seasoning oil. You can wipe it away with a cloth or paper napkin. If your food turns a bit darker, don’t worry. It is due to the oil and goes away with regular use. Always use a soft scrub and a mild soap to wash cast iron cookware.
